  2. Teresa Rodriguez Designs
    Tracy and Robin,
I thank you for the opportunity to win a scholarship with Flourish and Thrive! I have been praying for the right people to come into my life and help me with my jewelry business, then I found you. I’m very sincere when I say, you are the answer to my prayers. Please accept the following as my submission.

•Where are you in your jewelry business now?
My honest answer is, not where I need to be and not where I want to be. I started designing jewelry just for myself a couple of years ago. People would see me wearing my designs, request it and my business was born. Since then I’ve been brave enough to approach a few boutiques and now I’m in 6 shops in the Houston area, 3 shops in Arkansas and one near Beverly Hills. I recently took some time off after a family tragedy, a loved one was shot and killed. Now I’m ready to get back to business. I will be showing at my first market…. the January Accessories Show at the Dallas Market Center. Much to my delight, I’ve been asked to show some of my pieces in one of their fashion shows during the event.

•What’s holding you back in your business and your life?
Me! I’m the only one holding myself back. My jewelry has been received nicely by every shop owner I’ve met with however then fear grips me from meeting with more and bigger shops because I don’t have much business training. I don’t have a mentor advising me what I need to specifically do for my jewelry business. I’ve asked many designers in my area for help but they just brush me off and won’t return my calls or emails. I’m feeling very alone and scared to move forward without good advice.
•What is your vision for your business? Where do you want to go? What are your biggest dreams and desires?
My vision for my business is so big that it sometimes scares me but for the sake of my two little girls I must and will move forward. I want to be in boutiques all around the world. I want to see my designs sold in every Neiman’s, Saks, Nordstrom’s and even open my own boutiques across the country.
All this not for myself but to leave a legacy. My daughters, ages ten and six, are already designing jewelry for children to help other children. Some of their creations have even out sold mine at the shows we’ve done together! We do this as a family to help others. Our favorite charity is Freedom Place. There they rescue underage girls from human trafficking and their youngest victim is only 12-years-old. My dream is to grow my business and become a success so I can teach these young victims to grow a business of their own someday and NEVER become a victim again!
    Thank you for your consideration,
    Teresa

    • Teresa,
You are an amazing designer & visionary. My wife Sam has your jewelry & it is sold at the place where I work in the gift shop. With the right partner I truly believe your business could go across the country. Keep believing in yourself! We are cheering you on!

To answer this consider first that there is a common phrase to use but it is indeed

Those people who refer dating sites for the personal actions of some of the reasons why you feel shyness
