On today’s podcast, I am sharing my personal journey in building websites, increasing online sales, and cultivating lasting relationships.

You should definitely listen to this episode, but if you want to go directly to the source and learn it all from the same place I did (Marie Forleo!), click here to access the FREE training videos.

Today we’re covering the good, the bad, and the ugly: From when I didn’t have a clue how to build an email list all the way up to when my business began earning 5-figures a month, solely from my online presence.

Without further ado, let’s talk about the first of five steps I took to build my fanbase and grow my business.

(As you’ll hear in today’s episode, these steps profited my jewelry business to the tune of $30,000 in just one month!)

1. Build a Beautiful Website that Converts Sales

Shortly after I closed my first business, I built a new website with – in hindsight – pretty high hopes. Long story short, no one came. One month into my new business, and the only sale I had under my belt was a $2,000 custom wedding band project. That might sound like a lot to you, but I live in NYC, and that income wasn’t going to make much of a dent on business expenses, let alone personal.

Nowadays, we see jaw-dropping web designers everywhere. (I find mine through my morning Instagram scroll.) But back when I started my business, I had no idea that quality website design has the potential to elegantly guide clients through the sales process.

Thank goodness I learned! Here are some of the strategies that helped me start to see huge spikes in traffic, conversions and sales from my jewelry website:

  • A Homepage: A Page that could tell my story visually.
  • A High-Converting Opt-in Offer: My first opt in was a jewelry care guide that was awesome!
  • Call-to-Action Placements: These were incredibly useful in leading clients to buy or fill out one of my client forms.
  • A Blog: My blog helps me ramp-up my SEO so my DREAM clients could find me.
  • A Video: The use of video on a website actually creates trust between you and your visitors, actually leading them to the sale.

You’ve probably heard Robin & I say this before, but I’ll say it again: The secret to attracting DREAM clients for jewelry is to build a trusting relationship BEFORE your clients even purchase.

When I had this realization, I learned that my website was my #1 marketing tool. And, I know it sounds crazy, but everything turned around practically overnight!

That was because I learned to use client testimonials, email list-building, newsletters, and even phone calls to kick my website into top gear.

Don’t worry, I go over each and every one of those sales tactics and the final four steps in the episode. Take a listen, above!
