A brief story of what you do and why you do it

I am running a handmade product biz in accessories specifically in the jewelry line as I believe women will only feel complete when they wear precious yet fabulous jewelry pieces to match with their daily outfit.

How did you get into jewelry design?

I love to mix and match different materials and create it to become a new piece. I also want other people to be able to “carry” my product, and that's why I thought of making jewelry pieces that can be worn casually, brings confidence and completes their appearance/outfit.

What makes your collection unique?

I use a lot of mixed media to create my jewelry collections, with natural stone as the main ingredients. There are fun collection with combinations of gemstone and charms, a unique collection with wire wrapped gemstones, stylish elegant of statement necklaces, druzy gemstone series with epoxy clay design, etc.

What are your inspirations?

I love classic design and then I like to funky it up a bit, so I draw great inspiration from architecture, furniture design and art.

How are you making a difference in your life?

I love working for myself, making things I really fond of and show it to the world. These
make me happy!

What's the biggest struggle in running your jewelry business like a business? OR What is your biggest success in running your business like a business?

For me, marketing is the hardest step in running a business. How to let other people “see” my products? How to make them “know” my existence? Different shops have different tactics that will really work, so we need to find out what is the best way to target our market by ourselves. We need to be patient because marketing takes time.

I love everything about craft and design since I was a young girl. I was born in Jakarta, Indonesia; graduated in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, majored in industrial design. After working for a period of time as a product designer in Singapore, I am finally back to my hometown and have dedicated myself to embrace the passion as a handmade crafter – jewelry designer of Tree Craft Diary.
