A brief story of what you do and why you do it:
I've always had a creative spirit and a need to express that. My mom taught me at a very young age that art is subjective and if I love what I make then that is all that matters. I make jewelry because it makes me happy and if I can make someone feel beautiful in one of my pieces then I've accomplished my ultimate goal!
How did you get into jewelry design?
I started making jewelry about 7 years ago when my dad brought me home a vintage suitcase full of old jewelry pieces and I caught the bug! I never made anything to sale just pieces that I was proud to wear. Over the years I've gone back and forth from one form of art to the other when recently I was inspired to make my current collection.
What makes your collection unique?
I hand-make all my jewelry using wood beads from all over the world, stones that speak to me and tassels that make the necklaces extra special. My collection is part of my soul and pieces from my daydreams about traveling the world.
What are your inspirations?
All things bohemian, Moroccan colors and of course TASSELS!
How are you making a difference in your life?
Honestly making jewelry is a form of therapy for me. It helps me relax after a crazy day at work or escape from the perils of everyday life. This collection has helped center me and keep me balanced!
What's something unusual about you that makes you “you”?
I’m just a country girl at heart with a lust for art and knowledge of how things work. I love trying new things and I think that really shows in my collection!
What's the biggest struggle in running your jewelry business like a business? OR What is your biggest success in running your business like a business?
Right now the hardest part for me is sometimes feeling overwhelmed when several large orders come in at once! I stay up late most nights trying to get everything done so I can ship out in a timely manner.
I’m a 27-year-old boutique manager who loves fashion. I am a Mississippi hippie with a love for all things bohemian. I’m happiest sitting on the patio listening to my chickens cluck and talking about life with my mom.
