A brief story of what you do and why you do it:

I design and create metal jewelry using traditional metalsmith techniques; transforming a plain sheet of metal into something beautiful and useful is quite rewarding. I do it because it's therapeutic and satisfies my urge to want to create and understand the process of manipulating metal.

How did you get into jewelry design?

I wanted to make jewelry I would be excited to wear, then I began crafting pieces for my friends, which is so much fun. I ventured into taking some jewelry and metalsmith classes and found it to be even more exciting making metal jewelry with my own two hands. Plus, there is something about heating metal with a torch and transforming it into something beautiful and wearable that struck a nerve-I've not looked back.

What makes your collection unique?

Most of my jewelry is handcrafted uses recycled sterling silver and other mixed metals such as brass and copper. I use those metals to add simple touches, and sometimes complex,
details using symmetrical and asymmetrical shapes and subtle textures, which gives each piece it's own uniqueness during the creative process.

What are your inspirations?

I am inspired by nature, shapes and forms we are surrounded by; the movements of objects and the architectural aspects of design.

How are you making a difference in your life?

Hmmm, staying healthy, enjoying what life has to offer, big & small and working towards my dream goals.

What's something unusual about you that makes you “you”?

My family will tell you it's me singing and dancing too much, without warning. I am driven by the rhythm of music and I like to move my body to the beats. It just makes me happy. I work, cook, exercise with music on in the background at all times. My taste is eclectic, I pretty much listen to ‘almost' everything.

What's the biggest struggle in running your jewelry business like a business? OR What is your biggest success in running your business like a business?

The biggest struggle in running my jewelry business is finding balance between family life and other extra curricular activities that need my attention. My biggest success is communicating to my customers and making sure they are fully satisfied and happy with my jewelry. I want them to be happy to wear what I create and I strive to fabricate quality.
