A brief story of what you do and why you do it:

When I was a child I enjoyed making things with my hands. I studied social communication and journalism. I was spending most of my time creating jewellery for my family and friends, so one day I decided to give it a go. I learned jewellery making and design as part of my artistic development. Since then I never considered going back to Journalism.

How did you get into jewelry design?

I studied and learned traditional and contemporary jewellery making techniques in Latin America, and every piece in my jewellery collections is handmade by me – the signature of my work.

What makes your collection unique?

I don't use mass production techniques when making my pieces. The collections, such as Tesoro, are delicate woven threads of gold and silver. The Melted collection expresses the natural shapes of metals using unusual nuggets of silver or gold and create one of a kind pieces which stand out above the crowd. The love of animals led me to create my ‘Like Cats &Dogs’ collection which are hand cut pendants of delicate silhouettes.

What are your inspirations?

I get my inspiration through exploring organic forms and the natural world. I enjoy playing with textures in my designs which is part of my identity.

How are you making a difference in your life?

I'm my own boss and most of the times I'm quite strict with myself. I do enjoy creating new things everyday. It's more like a game.

What's something unusual about you that makes you “you”?

Well, sometimes some people say I have an eccentric personality which I don't agree completely with. I think they are the ones who may be making to much effort not to be themselves.

What's the biggest struggle in running your jewelry business like a business? OR What is your biggest success in running your business like a business?

I think the biggest success in running my business like a business is that it allows me to work full time and still keeping my artistic side alive.
