We are so excited about our second LIVE event and even more excited that you will be joining us! We wanted to get the party started by giving you an overview of the days plus your virtual gift bag! Which consists of each day’s agenda, bios of speakers and panels, a NYC list of must see stores, museums and delicious restaurants.

The event will start at 8:30 AM EDT on Thursday, September 22nd with registration, mingling and yes, coffee. Day 1 will end at 5:00 PM EDT. Day 2, Friday, September 23rd will kick off at 8:30 AM EDT with more mingling, community and coffee. Day 2 will end at 5 PM EDT on Friday, September 23rd with hugs, high fives and lots of tools in your virtual toolbox!

Gwynne currently serves as the Executive Director for the Society of North American Goldsmiths (SNAG), an organization dedicated to the support and advancement of contemporary jewelry and metal artists. Before that, Gwynne was the Executive Director for HandMade in America, an economic development organization that focuses on growing craft economies.

She has worked with both rural and urban communities teaching her professional development and entrepreneurship workshops across the country for over 10 years. Gwynne believes in helping artists expand their markets and create sustainable businesses.

Gwynne is also a member of the Craft Think Tank that convenes annually to provide a platform to explore how craft organizations and makers can work more closely together to further American craft.

Tara Silberberg

Tara

Tara is the owner/buyer of the Claypot in Brooklyn NY and in Nolita in NYC . She says “What started as a her mother’s pottery studio over the years has morphed into a jewelry store.”

Tara joined the business in 1990 and her passion for jewelry has changed the direction of the store tremendously. The Claypot has become a nationally recognized award winning store and website featuring 200 + jewelry designers and artisans.

Liz Kantner has been blogging, tweeting and creating connections since 2008. In 2012, Liz began managing social media for Todd Reed and moved on to handle his PR and Marketing as well.

Hanson studied over 6 years classical European fine jewelry, first journeying to Colorado to study with legendary master goldsmith Harold O'Connor. Kristin Hanson further pursued master in historic Florence, Italy under the tutelage of Giampaulo Babetto. Tuscany, inspired her love of architecture and a passion for luxury. She returned to her New York origins and launched her first public collection at Bergdorf Goodman.

Kristin Hanson specializes in Argyle Pink Diamonds, launching her latest SKYLINE collection with Rio Tinto Diamonds. Recently, Platinum Guild International awarded Kristin Hanson with the Platinum fashion Innovation Award at JCK in Las Vegas.

Megan Dolbee

Megan

Megan Dolbee started her career in fashion working for a company called Flax based in Upstate NY. She quickly gained a management position and was moved to Los Angeles to run their corporate showroom. A few years later, Megan ventured out of the corporate side of fashion and started working as an independent sales representative for the Kristi Harris Showroom in Los Angeles. After working at the showroom for almost 4 years, Megan approached Kristi with a business plan to expand to the East Coast and open a NY Showroom. Harris Dolbee opened its doors in December 2008; the economy was challenging, but Kristi’s 20-year reputation in the industry help to launch the new showroom. The Harris Dolbee Showroom is now in its seventh year of business and has flourished; becoming an industry leader in featuring a well curated assortment of contemporary fine and fashion jewelry lines, handbags and accessories.

Kim Dziabis

Kim

Kim has had two careers in her life. The first was 20 years spent working for radio broadcast companies, in sales and sales management positions in Rochester, New York and Philadelphia.

From Philadelphia, she moved to Leesburg, VA in 2003 and opened Madisonbelle in 2004.

As the owner/manager, she wore many hats including buying, merchandising, and event planning. The store carried a well-edited mix of contemporary clothing, jewelry, and accessories. Jewelry played a very important role in the mix. She sold the store in September 2014 to one of Madisonbelle’s customers and it is still thriving in today.

Kim moved to NYC in April 2015 where she ban working for London based Lena Skadegard jewelry.

Mariel Diaz

Mariel

Mariel Diaz, tuned her focus at a very young age. She grew up in the jewelry industry with both parents as jewelers. Her grandmother that helped raise her was an accountant for them. Mariel is equal parts right and left brained, blending both heart and logic in all she does.

Hilary Halstead Scott

Hilary Halstead Scott is the President of Halstead, an international jewelry supply wholesaler. She is the second generation to manage the family owned and operated company, which has served the jewelry industry for 43 years. Her passion is supporting the small jewelry business community. To that end, she founded The Halstead Grant ten years ago to encourage sound business planning principles in emerging design firms. She has an MBA and a Masters of International Management.

Emilie Shapiro

Emilie

Emilie grew up on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, where water has always been her constant and her inspiration. She uses the ancient craft of lost wax casting which dates back to the Egyptians, wherein she carves sculptural pieces into hard wax and casts them into metal. All production and resources are kept as local as possible, and every piece is handmade in Emilie’s studio in New York City.

Emilie received her B.F.A. in Art + Design with a concentration in jewelry and metalsmithing from Syracuse University. She also studied at Alchimia, a contemporary school of jewelry in Florence, Italy with artists Peter Bauhuis, Yoko Shimizu, and Marzia Rossi. Before launching her own jewelry line, Emilie worked as the Production Manager at Pamela Love and Allforthemountain.

Emilie also teaches jewelry workshops at Liloveve Jewelry School, The 92Y, as well as private lessons in her studio.
