Designer Spotlight: Nadica Zlatkova Mitevska
How did you get into jewelry design?
After finishing school I had less and less time to create art. I started making jewelry a few years ago simply as hobby and to fulfill my artistic inner explosions. After a while it became an obsession while I was discovering new stones and new ways of creation… So there I was hooked on something creative, unique and beautiful.
What makes your collection unique?
The collection has its' flowing energy .The composition is asymmetrical, unusual and exceptional so it has odd but charming grace. Appealing to the eye, it makes you feel fabulous.
What are your inspirations?
My inspirations come mostly from the stones that I work with as I admire the nature and beauty in them. There is no greater inspiration than nature.
How are you making a difference in your life?
By creating something I become more connected with life, things around me. It's like my zen moments and the more I have them the more I need them. It gives stability and sense in my life at this time.
What's something unusual about you that makes you “you”?
Maybe the way I see aesthetic is sometimes more sensual or a little different from other people so I try to explore that more in my designs and make the most of it.
What's the biggest struggle in running your jewelry business like a business?
The biggest struggle is making and finding time and assets and resources for making it really a business, as I am new in this. The creation moments are delightful and I live for them.
Finished faculty of fine arts as a graphic artist. A brief story of what you do and why you do it. Being a jewelry designer gives me calmness and some kind of peace that I feel when I create. From the start of the process of creation till the end the material that I work with enables me to be in touch with nature, and creating something beautiful from it is the greatest pleasure. Now, I create necklaces, earrings, bracelets and trying to carry on the exceptional and wonderful emotions that I feel onto someone else.
