A BRIEF STORY OF WHAT YOU DO AND WHY YOU DO IT

Aside from the creation process, at the end of the day, what brings me joy is to see the client smile, knowing they can enjoy a beautiful & meaningful piece of jewelry for many years to come.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO JEWELRY DESIGN?

“The creation of a jewel begins in the rough….. Examining the potential in a piece of rough, and discovering the layers of color is a intrinsic process; it brings the beauty of a gem to fruition” I started on the path to jewelry design through cabbing Opals. They are my favorite Gemstone, and to this day, they continue to fascinate me. Putting them in jewelry to be worn was the next step, allowing the gem to tell it's story as the center piece.

What Makes Your Collection Unique?

The personalization and artistic vision that goes into creating a one of a kind piece for the client. “An embellishing form of wearable art, a dance between precious stones and metal, a truly colorful representation of self expression”

What Are your inspirations?

World travel, culture, and the inspiration of nature in it's most simple form is the foundation of my design.

HOW ARE YOU MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR LIFE?

I've made a commitment to continuously learn, be observant of the outside as well as nurturing personal growth.

What's something unusual about you that makes you “you”?

I don't know if this is something unusual, but I have childlike curiosity, I enjoy examining things very closely. I'm grateful for the beauty around me.

WHAT'S THE BIGGEST STRUGGLE IN RUNNING YOUR JEWELRY BUSINESS LIKE A BUSINESS? OR WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST SUCCESS IN RUNNING YOUR BUSINESS LIKE A BUSINESS?

I relocated back to the US after doing gem & mineral shows in Europe for several years. I did some custom work, but my primary business was as a gem dealer (Opal). My customers were mainly jewelers, collectors or people looking to cut their own rough. Although I have a pretty good idea of what my dream clients are now for this new jewelry line- I need help marketing to them exclusively, and to steadily establish my brand.

I grew up in Southern California and the Bahamas. I started rock hounding with my parents as a little girl during weekend outings, hiking around and digging for stones. I went to college, joined the military and after completing my tour, one day, it just clicked. I was going to go back to filling my bucket full of rocks, and off I went on my journey to study Gemology. Exploring this colorful industry has been one of the best decisions I've made in my life, it never seizes to inspire me ♥
