Why Willpower Won't Build Your Sales Rhythm
Here's the honest truth about willpower: it's not a system. It's an emotion. And emotions fluctuate. What doesn't fluctuate is a rhythm you've actually built into your life and business.
The creatives who hit consistent revenue aren't necessarily more talented or more strategic than you. They've simply committed to showing up every day and taking the actions that actually generate sales, even when it's uncomfortable. Especially when it's uncomfortable.
So why is it so hard to get there? Because there are sneaky internal resistance patterns running in the background that most of us don't even recognize:
- The “perfectionism prism”: You're working on everything, refining everything, and feeling productive, but nothing is actually reaching customers.
- Fear of rejection: Putting yourself out there feels terrifying, so you stay in research mode instead.
- Fear of looking pushy: You've conflated selling with sleaziness, when in reality, selling is just delivering value to someone who wants it.
The Be, Do, Have Reframe
One of the most powerful concepts I walk through in this episode is the idea of “be, do, have.” Most of us wait until we have the results before we believe we can be the person who achieves them. But that's backwards. You have to calibrate your energy to the version of you who already has what you desire, and then execute from that place.
This isn't just mindset fluff. I watched it transform Shirley, a jewelry designer in South Africa who came to me feeling completely blocked.
