Let’s take a field trip!

Come with me real quick down the crowded aisles of a jewelry trade show. Let’s watch as the scene unfolds…

A potential customer steps into the booth of an accomplished jewelry designer and asks:

“What made you want to start a jewelry business?”

The designer reacts in one of two ways-

Either happily launching into the never gets old story of how they were born gifted to design jewelry or…

The designer gives a puzzled look in silence wondering how in the world they could possibly explain their life’s calling and unyielding passion to this stranger in passing.

End Scene.

I’d venture to guess that you identify with one of those response.

And I know why…

Because your jewelry biz is so much more than a job, or a company.

It’s where your passion meets your innate talent…and it’s profound.

Now…that’s not to say that we are all gifted with the same inborn talent when it comes to running a jewelry biz.

Some of us have a knack for design, some of us are skilled entrepreneurs, and some of us are stand out makers.

Whatever your natural talents are, they are more than likely what keeps you showing up in your jewelry biz every day because they fuel your passion.

If you can’t tell…I can’t wait to get into today’s episode! I’m sitting down with Diana House, a lawyer turned founder of Tiny Devotions.

Tiny Devotions is one of the most successful Yoga Jewelry companies in business today because Diana has figured out how to harness her innate talents to run her business. And today she’s giving a TON of tips on how you can too.

You’re going to want to hear this one!

Know Yourself

When it comes to leveraging your inherent talents, first step is knowing what they are. Equally as important though is knowing what they aren’t.

You’ll hear in Diana’s story that she was recuperating from law school when her jewelry business was born. She did all the designing and making for a long time, but quickly realized that those weren’t her innate talents.

As Tiny Devotions got bigger, the creative parts of her jewelry biz were the first thing she let go of, while keeping the entrepreneurial tasks that she rocked at. And her business grew because of it.

Surround Yourself with “A” Players

We can’t all be the greatest at everything…and even if we could, who has time for that? Which is why it is so important to fill your business with the very best contractors or employees that you can find. Leverage their unique talents to help your business grow.

On today’s episode Diana shares her wealth of experience (the good and the bad) managing a team. You’ll hear amazing tips about how to be a better manager and how to find the right people for your all star team.

Set Up Systems and Processes

You might be scratching your head trying to figure out how this fits into a podcast episode about leveraging your innate talents. Especially if setting up systems isn’t one of your talents.

Here’s why this is so important…when systems and processes empower you to be able to do the things that you love, you really learn to love systems.

Strong systems in your jewelry biz will free up your time and money in incredible ways so that you can spend more time nurturing those soul level talents that got you into business in the first place.

Here’s to a week full of passion fueled by talent.

xo, Tracy
