The Part That Hit Me Hardest: The Four Buying Inflection Points

Kelly shared something in this interview that I cannot stop thinking about. There are four moments in the first 30 days after someone buys where they are psychologically primed to make their next purchase decision. Most businesses miss every single one of them because they're too focused on acquiring new customers.

Those four moments are the checkout process, the onboarding process, the first win with the product or service, and when the customer bumps up against what they need next. For jewelry designers, that last one looks like this: a customer sends you a photo wearing the necklace you made, and you notice she has no earrings to match it. That moment, that natural, genuine observation, is the invitation. Not a pushy sales script. Just: have you found earrings to go with that yet?

Kelly put it perfectly. The Miracle Hour is all about making invitations. We have developed this culture of entitlement where we expect people to buy from us without ever extending an invitation. That's the habit we're breaking.

Start in the Center of the Circle

One of the most actionable things Kelly shared is this: you always start the Miracle Hour in the center of the circle, which means your current customers. Not cold outreach. Not new leads. The people who already know you, love your work, and are statistically most likely to buy from you again.

Kelly shared a hard lesson from scaling her company from seven to eight figures. Her team was so focused on servicing existing clients and acquiring new ones that they stopped selling to current customers. Those customers started buying elsewhere. Results tanked. The lesson she took from it is one I'm applying directly to my own businesses: if you are not consistently inviting your buyers to take the next step, someone else will.

Most businesses can double their revenue in six months or less by focusing exclusively on current customers, inactive customers, and referrals from those customers. That's it. No new marketing strategy required.

How to Start Your Miracle Hour Today

Here are Kelly's five steps, broken down for creative entrepreneurs:

Step 1: Know your goals. What is your Miracle Hour optimized for? New customer acquisition? Reactivating past clients? Getting referrals? Your answer determines your activities.

Step 2: Commit to your hour. It does not have to be in the morning. Kelly originally did hers on her lunch break. The key is consistency, not timing.

Step 3: Pick five to seven core activities. Choose the lowest-hanging fruit first. Where have your best customers come from? What outreach have you been avoiding that you know would work? Start there.

Step 4: Set quantities and track. If you commit to 50 outreach messages a day, track the result. Adjust from data, not feelings.

Step 5: Build your Dream 1000. Do an asset inventory of your entire network. Current customers, inactive customers, people who inquired but never bought, warm leads. Get everyone into a rotation where they hear from you at least twice a month.
