EP348: 7 Questions to Ask Yourself If Your Jewelry Sales Aren’t Growing

EP 348 Blog Feature

Here’s one thing I learned in almost a decade of helping jewelry designers at Flourish and Thrive: personal success depends on one thing— YOU.

Your success largely depends on how consistent you are in showing up and how strategic you are in taking steps to reach your goals. Sure, programs like Laying The Foundation and Momentum can empower you to do great things in your business. But the knowledge and tactics you’ll learn from these programs will only be as effective as you allow them to be.

In this episode, I’ll be sharing some valuable insights I got from reaching out to a member of our community who's given us negative feedback. It was an uncomfortable situation but then I was reminded that receiving FEEDBACK, even when we can’t stand to hear, can teach us something as long as we don’t allow our emotions and biases to take over. Coming from a place of service is one of our mantras so I engaged.

If you want to hear the whole story of how we finally to an agreement, listen to the whole episode below.

Here are the 7 questions that you can ask yourself if you aren't getting sales that you want in your business:

What are you doing on a daily basis to make sales?

They say that time is money. And it’s true. Time is business capital that you should be spending wisely. Make an honest audit of how you’ve been spending your time because that will show you whether you’re investing it wisely or you’re wasting it staying busy with things that have nothing to do with sales. You should be spending 75% of your time on task that directly lead to higher sales.

Are your efforts actually leading to conversion?

Take time to evaluate your efforts. Are they really producing your desired results. Because if not, you have to stop and consider changing your strategy. Some of the things that you’re doing right now may or may not be working so it’s important to be flexible and be open to the idea of redirecting your efforts.

Are you being consistent?

Any marketing strategy needs consistency to be successful. It doesn’t matter which platform you're using to engage with your audience, As long as you are consistently showing up, your brand will benefit.

Quick tip: try to establish a regular schedule and prioritize tasks that push you toward your goals every day.

Are you adjusting your marketing and sales strategy based on the market?

Just as the world is constantly changing, so too is the field of marketing. What worked five years ago might not work today, and what works today might be obsolete in a few years. It's your job to stay on top of the latest trends and ensure that your company's marketing campaigns are relevant and effective. Keeping up with the latest marketing trends can feel like a full-time job in itself. But it's essential if you want your company to stay ahead of the competition.

Are you keeping up with the marketing trends that are most relevant to your dream clients?

Marketing to today's generations can be incredibly nuanced, thanks to the internet. As a jewelry marketers you need to be able to segment your audience accordingly. You need to know where they hang out online and what kinds of content they consume.

You need to know where your dream clients hang out online and what kinds of content they consume. You can try exploring untapped platforms like Tik Tok, where one of our students actually gained massive sales when her video went viral last year.

Do you understand your dream client?

Before you can think about how to attract your dream clients, you need to put yourself in their shoes and understand what they want. What are their buying habits and patterns? What motivates them to buy jewelry, and more importantly, why would they buy from you?

By understanding your dream clients and what they're looking for, you'll be in a much better position to attract them.

Are you being honest with yourself about running a business?

If you want to take your biz far, you've got to be ambitious. But be warned: going after your goals will require a lot of personal growth.

Growing a successful business is a crash course in personal development, and it requires you to work hard and frequently adapt to unexpected challenges.

I really encourage you to be honest with yourself. Be prepared to face your fears head-on, and don't give up until you reach your goals.

I encourage all designers ask these questions from time to time, as they serve as a self-check- in to see  if your actions align with your goals.
