EP360: The Future of Jewelry 10 Year Anniversary Episode with Tracy Matthews and Robin Kramer

EP 360 Blog Feature

Back in 2012, I had an idea that was developed in a dingy jazz club over cocktails with my friend and jewelry consultant, Robin Kramer.  My vision was to bring business coaching to start up brands who couldn’t afford to hire a consultant.

The jewelry industry was tight-lipped back then and no other jewelry designers were sharing their secrets because they thought if they helped, they’d lose their competitive edge.

There was a huge learning curve to go from running a jewelry business to online business programs for jewelry designers, but we did it anyway.

We pre-sold our signature program – Laying the Foundation to 50 makers who got great results. Ten years later, we’ve helped more than 8,500+ brands grow successful businesses that are aligned with their vision of success.

And as we’re celebrating our 10th anniversary, Robin and I recorded this extra special episode to give you an insight into the future of the jewelry industry, so you can stay ahead of the curve.

If there’s anything that the last couple of years has taught us, it's that you should be prepared.

Robin is a master in wholesale and buyer-vendor relationships and one of the best in the industry.

In this episode, we discussed stats, trends, and insights about where the jewelry industry is heading. And here’s a quick overview of what we discussed.

What to Expect

There's a global shift happening right now, and we are likely headed into a recession whether you like it or not. With that being said, if you’re prepared and you keep your business running like a well-oiled machine, you won’t be affected like other brands who show up unprepared.

Plus, since consumer trends are pointing to less brand loyalty and more convenience, one of the best ways to retain customers is to make your online shopping experience intuitive and easy to navigate, especially for busy mobile shoppers.

We talk a lot more about navigating these trends, as well.

Jewelry Styles and Trends

There’s one thing that’s here to stay: Jewelry will always be the go to purchase to commemorate a special occasion. Robin shares more about what she’s seeing at tradeshows and trends like tech jewelry, gold, and growing categories that will always be booming.

You'll learn where jewelry plays a big role right now, and the popular jewelry categories. Knowing this could mean a thriving jewelry business for you for years to come.

Why Jewelry Matters Right Now

Although many businesses lost revenue during the pandemic, the jewelry brands that focused on their online and e-commerce sales saw significant growth in 2020 and 2021.

We talked about why handmade jewelry is positioned to attract high-paying customers even in the face of a recession I also discussed consumer buying trends that will help you position your marketing and deliver a better experience.

Tips on Having Customers for Life

It’s a known fact that certain consumer segments are becoming less brand loyal. That’s why you need  to deliver a great brand experience to your customers. We drop timeless tips and examples on how to train your customers to become clients for life.

The goal is to help you  increase your volume of customers and the number of referrals they give. And so much more.

So if you want to ride the trend and take advantage of the future of the jewelry industry, listen to the full podcast episode 360… and celebrate our 10th year anniversary with us.

Cheers!

xo, Tracy
