Jessica says email marketing is just like online dating, and I love that metaphor.

Once a customer has joined your email list, it’s like they’ve swiped right on your profile. Now it’s your job to wine and dine them.

Create an automated welcome series of emails that go out to anyone who joins your list, and don’t sell too hard just yet.

These emails should be fun and casual. Talk about who you are, how you’ll solve their problems, and why you do what you do.

Abandonment Series

As Jessica explains it, 68% of prospective customers leave a website without making a purchase.

Your abandonment series should be that little nudge that urges those customers to take the leap and try your product.

Lean into the benefits of your product. Overcome their objectives by talking about your amazing return policy and/or money-back guarantee.

Don’t feel like you need to offer a discount. Most people just need some encouragement.

Post-Purchase Series

Making a sale is the best feeling ever, but your job is not done yet.

Once someone makes an order, they should be funneled into your post-purchase email series. Jessica recommends making the first email feel like a personal thank you from you, the founder.
